6 Things You Didn’t Know Your iPhone Can Do
Whether you are a new iPhone user or an existing one, there are chances that you are not using your iPhone to its fullest capability. Because an iPhone has so many features, it is quite possible that there are tricks that you have absolutely no idea about. In this article, we have compiled some of the things you might not know about your iPhone and we listed the instructions on how to get that feature working.
1. Create custom vibrations
Did you know that you can create custom vibrations for each of your contacts? Wouldn’t it be great to know who exactly is calling just by the way your iPhone is vibrating? To do this, go to the Contacts app and select the person you want to create a custom vibration for. Tap Edit and you will see a Vibration option. Upon pressing, you will see a Create New Vibration option, tap that and start customising your vibration.
2. Fix Siri’s pronunciation
We all know who Siri is and this voice-controlled assistant is great at giving you any information that you may need such as an update on the weather, navigation and sports scores. However, there are times that even Siri can’t get the right pronunciation of words. To fix this all you have to do is to tell Siri that it is wrong. Just say, “That is not how you pronounce [the word].” Siri will then ask for the correct pronunciation and let you double check if it is now right.
3. Shake to delete
When you are typing words or using editing tools such as cut, copy or paste, you can shake your iPhone to undo the typing and shake it again to redo.
4. Hide your private photos
In order to hide private images, go to your Photos app and select the photos that you want to hide. Tap the Share button and other options will be visible including the Hide button. Once you tap that button, your pictures are now invisible in the Moments, Collections and Years view.
5. Track a flight
Your iPhone can also track a flight by just typing the flight number into Safari’s address bar. You will be able to see the details of the flight, which includes the flight times, status and a real-time map of where the plane is.
6. Check that a surface is level
Most people do not know the feature built into the Compass app. Launch the app then swipe left until you find a bubble leveller. This feature uses your iPhone’s gyroscope sensor to check if things are properly aligned vertically or horizontally.
